PUBLIC NOTICE PERMIT RENEWAL Pursuant to the Surface Mining Conservation and Reclamation Act, the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection Rules and Regulations, and Clean Streams Law notice hereby is given that Laurel Sand & Stone, Inc., P. O. Box 556, Ligonier, PA 15658 has made application to the Pennsylvania Department of Environmental Protection for renewing its existing surface coal mine permit and the related NPDES permit (Permit No. PA0234591). The current permit #11970106 was issued on June 3, 1998 and will expire on June 3, 2018. This renewal does not contain revisions to the existing operation. The receiving streams for the permit area are an unnamed tributary to South Branch of Blacklick Creek and an unnamed tributary to Bracken Run. The operation is located in Jackson Township, Cambria County and is known as the Chickaree Mine. The permit area is situated approximately 0.8 mile north of U.S. Route 22 at Chickaree with access to the site via an existing haulroad off of S.R. 3045 approximately 600Õ north of the intersection of S.R. 3045 and U.S. Route 22. The permit consists of 85.2 acres. The Vintondale, PA USGS 7.5Õ topographic map contains the area described. A copy of the application is available for public inspection at the Cambria County Conservation District, 401 Candlelight Drive, Suite 229, Ebensburg, PA 15931. Written comments, objections, or a request for public hearing or informal conference may be submitted to the Department of Environmental Protection, Cambria District Office, 286 Industrial Park Road, Ebensburg, PA 15931 no later than 30 days following the final publication of this notice and must include the personÕs name, address, telephone number, and a brief statement as to the nature of the comments(s).
